Long Run | 8 miles | Central Park
I met up with Joe F. and Cara K., the two responsible for my Half-Marathon Grand Prix registration. Joe and Cara have both run in several marathons and half-marathons including this year's impressive sub-3:00:00 performance at the ING NYC Marathon. Cara ran varsity Cross Country in high school and college and Joe was a rower with me. Although new to the sport, he's fast.
It was a gorgeous fall morning in the Park. Joe and Cara ran two easy laps of Central Park (just over six miles per lap). I tagged along for the first lap and then ran the rest of the way back to my apartment about 2 miles away. I was very hesitant to run much more than that since it was my first day running in over two months. I've had issues with Plantar Fasciitis in the past and didn't want to risk injury. My lungs and muscles may have had the endurance to run much longer, but my joints and ligaments certainly don't.
Pace: Easy
Total Distance: 8 miles
